We are challenging each of our valued supporters to complete 1 million steps before 21st June 2021 - the date lockdown is predicted to end.

Our 'STEP TO IT' challenge is to raise money and awareness of our Teamwork Trust Wellbeing services – vital classes (currently running online) to help people in the local community feel better about themselves and overcome anxiety.

A million steps before lockdown ends might not seem like much of a challenge for everyone - but for others it is a big deal.

To give you an idea, if you started on Saturday 13th March 2021, you would need to complete 10,000 steps a day for 100 days. If you start earlier, you could spread your daily steps out a bit more. We will leave you to do the maths - all we just ask that you set yourself a realistic daily goal and achieve the total 1 million steps by 21st June.

Taking part

This bit is easy - just follow these steps...

  • Set up a STEP TO IT fundraising page or donate a one-off amount
  • Get yourself a fitness tracker so you can monitor your steps - you could count them but that would be tricky!
  • Take pictures and videos of you on your challenge - e.g. screenshots of your fitness tracker, selfies of you on your daily walks or runs - we would love you to get creative!
  • Share all your pics and vids on social media so others can see what you're up to - make sure you tag @TeamworkTrust and use the hashtag #STEPTOIT
  • Tell your friends and family to take part too

How will we use the money you raise?

Our Teamwork Wellbeing classes range from crafting and art sessions, to classes which teach practical coping techniques – we are finding they’re are needed now more than ever as we support people to ease out of lockdown.

We hope to be able to restart our Wellbeing sessions in-person from our Teamwork Trust centres soon too. And with so many of us having had to deal with the pressures of lockdowns this past year, we expect these to be in high demand as well.

The money you help us raise will enable us to increase our Wellbeing offer and help even more people in the local community.

People who have taken part in our Wellbeing sessions have said:

“The course has given me great insight and helped me support my family”

“I came to Teamwork very anxious, not being able to focus, struggling to function normally. Now I have a useful toolbox to deal with my anxiety - I now spot my symptoms and can stay grounded when I experience panic attacks.”
