The former High Sheriff of Northamptonshire has pledged his support for Teamwork Trust, by stepping up to join the board of trustees.

James Saunders Watson will play a pivotal role in supporting the charity and social enterprise, as it continues to thrive amidst difficult funding challenges to support vulnerable adults in Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough.

James said: “I have been supporting Teamwork over the last twelve months as my charity of the year because I am passionate about the prevention of mental health related illnesses. My High Sheriff role is now at an end, but I have been so overwhelmed and impressed with the work the charity carries out in the community, that I didn’t want my involvement with Teamwork to stop. The staff, volunteers and members are all truly extraordinary people, and I am delighted to have been welcomed onto the board of trustees so that I can continue to support this incredible organisation in the future.”

John Bruce, strategic director for Teamwork Trust added: “We are so pleased that James has decided to stay on and support Teamwork. Our big focus as a charity now is to continue to build partnerships with all the right organisations and to be mindful of how all the changes in our local government will affect our members. With James’ help and through his business and community links, we want to become more influential in shaping local services. We are moving closer and closer to this end every day.”
