I'm proud to be running the GNR for a wonderful organisation like Teamwork Trust, an organisation that is an invaluable part of so many people's lives.

I started volunteering at the Kettering Centre in October 2016 after a period out of work due to mental health issues. I started an apprenticeship here in July 2017 and did an NVQ in Health & Social Care, before becoming a full-time support worker in November 2018, my current role. During my time here, I have grown in confidence and as a person more than I could have possibly imagined, I have had such an amazing time throughout the last two and a half years, meeting and working with some incredible people.

When I was approached to do the GNR, I was certainly initially doubtful as before I started my training, I had zero running experience and had done little exercise since I left school ten years ago. Running a half marathon would be one of the biggest challenges in my life and this was confirmed as I suffered an injury after just a few short runs at the very start of my training!

However I picked myself up and at the beginning of 2019 decided this would be the year I would challenge myself to go out of my comfort zone and despite facing further obstacles, I am making progress in my training and am fully committed to running and completing the event in September. Running 13 miles, how hard can it be!
