Distinguished guests at Teamwork Trust’s 2019 AGM said it was ‘eye-opening’, ‘inspiring’ and ‘encouragingly different’.

Over 70 people attended the Northamptonshire charity’s event at Kettering Park Hotel, including the HM Lord Lieutenant for Northamptonshire, Deputy Mayor of Corby, Mayor of Kettering and Leader of Kettering Council. Trustees, other local dignitaries and representatives from businesses and charitable organisations were also among the guests, but it was the presentations from Teamwork’s service-users which demonstrated the real human value of the charity’s work.

David Laing, the county’s HM Lord Lieutenant said: “Watching the presentations being delivered by the members with such confidence and hearing about Teamwork’s recent achievements and plans was incredibly insightful.

"It is so apparent that Teamwork is a charity which is working with its service-users, rather than just working for them, and their involvement really made it a remarkable event.”

Julie Lee, Commissioner for Learning Disabilities in Northamptonshire, was the keynote speaker which added another element to the AGM and gave guests opportunity to ask important questions about assessments and statutory care services.

Anne Burnett, Teamwork trustee said: “The speaker was asked some really interesting questions from the members and some of their families in the audience who wanted to express their views about the council’s services. It was so different to your average AGM in a very positive way.”

Mayor of the Borough of Kettering, Councillor Keli Watts added: “Teamwork is in a rock-solid position financially and in terms of people support to take on new projects and continue its good work. It was inspiring to see so people attend and so much enthusiasm.”
