News News Letters to Teamwork service-users keep spirits high during lockdown Teamwork Trust’s service-users have loved receiving letters from volunteers – saying they help them feel happier during lockdown. Teamwork’s dedicated volunteers have been contributing to the new remote ‘Living & Learning’ service by sharing their daily lockdown activities and pictures of how they have been filling their time while social distancing. The letters have been well-received by service-users who thrive on interaction with Teamwork Trust staff and volunteers. Kerri Marshall-Duckett, Volunteer Coordinator at Teamwork Trust said: “Our volunteers are very much part of the Teamwork family, and their involvement in helping us deliver our new remote services over this period is valued more than ever. “They have been sharing photos of them gardening and baking, showing how they’ve been keeping themselves busy, and also explaining how they themselves have been coping with the lockdown. Service-users have been feeling inspired by the regular contact with the volunteers. They are familiar faces in the centres so it’s great that they can continue to play an important part in the lives.” Robert and Sandra volunteer at the Wellingborough centre and shared photos of their recent holiday… Sandra and I had a great time in Pakistan – we really enjoyed it. Here are some photos of us in gardens at the houses we stayed in. Look forward to seeing you again soon. Heather Greaves is mother to Teamwork member, Natalie, and a regular volunteer at the Corby centre. In a recent letter she shared stories of her gardening activities, walks with her miniature Schnauzer, morning crossword sessions and playing board games. She said… I live in Rockingham Village and we have a very long garden. We have a little pond, a vegetable plot, rose garden, woodland area, beach garden and herbaceous border. It has been lovely to be able to get out in the fresh air and potter about. All the spring flowers are coming into bloom and the plants are coming into leaf. It’s a lovely time of year. We have many animals in our garden, can you find them in the pictures. Jackie Gardner is a volunteer from Wellingborough. In her letter she said… We are still walking and gardening as the weather is nice. I have some pictures of my friend’s lovely front garden, also a picture of an old pump we have in the village. The rest are pictures of my garden. I miss you all Teamwork – my stars. One Teamwork service-user, Jimmy said: “I miss the Teamwork volunteers and staff, so hearing what they have been up to makes me very happy.” For more information on becoming a Teamwork Trust volunteer click HERE.
