Teamwork Trust will play a crucial role in helping Northamptonshire Police and Fire services and other key organisations promote community safety.

Teamwork’s service-users in Wellingborough – adults with mental health needs and learning and physical disabilities – have been putting together information packs about crime prevention, fly-tipping, home fire safety and anonymous crime reporting.

The important packs will be delivered to by Norse (who provide facilities management services) to selected estates ahead of the Safer Stronger Neighbourhood Partnership’s new CommuniTea family fun events on 29th and 31st October. CrimeStoppers, Greatwell Homes, Northamptonshire Police and Fire services, Solve It, Borough Council of Wellingborough, Service 6 and Fearless are among the other organisations involved.

“Our work with the Safer Stronger Neighbourhood Partnership is about breaking down barriers and giving our service-users even greater opportunities to get involved in important initiatives to become valued members of the local community”

Teamwork’s strategic director, John Bruce, added: “We jumped at the chance to support the upcoming events, and thanks to Teamwork Trust over 1,000 information packs will go out locally – that makes our service-users very proud indeed.”

Shaun Johnson, Arson Task Force and voluntary chair for the Northamptonshire CrimeStoppers Charity added: “We are thrilled to have Teamwork Trust on board. Their involvement has been invaluable and highlights the strong partnership approach of organisations coming together to improve community safety. Reducing arson by 25% and promoting CrimeStoppers so that the police have better intelligence to combat gangs, drugs, violence and grooming in the area are just some of our ambitious targets. The upcoming family fun days are just the beginning of many collaboration opportunities.”
