25th September 2020: Teamwork Trust will play a crucial role in supporting a local community project by Wellingborough’s Made With Many.

Teamwork’s Wellingborough-based service-users – autistic adults and adults with mental health needs and learning disabilities – have been busy filling over 1,000 community packs with information leaflets, arts and craft materials and important updates for members of the public about how COVID restrictions will affect bonfire night celebrations.

The packs will be delivered by Made With Many to households in Hemmingwell, Queensway and Kingsway over the coming weeks, encouraging people to stay connected by designing and sending their own postcards to friends, families and neighbours as social distancing measures continue.

“Our work with the Made With Many is about breaking down barriers and giving our service-users even greater opportunities to get initiatives which enable them to become valued members of the local community.”

Teamwork’s Head of Development, Victoria Bell added: “It might sound like a simple task, but our service-users get so much joy and pride from packing and filling, and some of them may even receive the packs through the door so they can see the project through from start to finish. We are delighted to be able to develop this working relationship with a likeminded organisation.”

Teamwork Trust is also working with Made With Many on various other opportunities in the future – staff have been visiting Teamwork’s Wellingborough centre to give talks to service-users, and there is a chance to support upcoming gallery exhibitions, workshops, performances, festivals and other events too. The charity’s service-users have also been making badges for Made With Many volunteers and staff.

Sarah Brown, Producer at Made With Many said: “We are thrilled to have Teamwork Trust on board. As a community-led arts programme, Made With Many is all about inclusion and collaboration and Teamwork’s involvement has been invaluable so far. Staff and members at Teamwork have been so helpful in making this project a reality, and it is great to be able to work with such a reliable organisation. We look forward to involving Teamwork in other projects and offering opportunities for their members to get involved with arts and cultural activities.”

The information packs are all part of the bigger ‘Creative People and Places’ project being delivered by Made With Many and funded by Arts Council England.
