Teamwork Trust has its own well established counselling service - a professional, confidential, safe and person centred service.

We work with and support the general public and our local communities, getting referrals from GPs and community mental health teams, wellbeing teams, crisis intervention and local voluntary organisations such as Mind and Northamptonshire Carers.

We also take a large number of self-referrals, who find Teamwork Trust thanks to our excellent word of mouth reputation.

Our team of counsellors, based at our three centres in Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough, work with and support individuals with a range of needs and challenges - offering people an opportunity to work towards achieving their own goals.

We are able to help people with a range of issues such as anxiety and depression, loss and bereavement, trauma and abuse, eating disorders, mental health issues, work based stress and relationship issues.

Counselling is offered from our centres in Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough. Our service operates from 8.30am to 4pm Mondays to Fridays, with some evening sessions (Tuesdays) available from our Kettering centre.

Clients are asked, if they are able, to make a voluntary donation towards the cost of the service.

As a charity we rely on these donations to continue running and improving the service we offer. If clients are a UK tax payer we invite you to complete one of our Gift Aid forms.

Current counselling availability

We are currently open to new clients at all 3 locations Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough, although there is a waiting list of up to three months after the initial assessment.  To seek alternative counsellors, please look online at the Counselling Directory, link below.

How the service works

Contact us to make an appointment for an initial assessment.

At the assessment we will explore the reasons you are seeking counselling, how long you have been experiencing difficulties and how this might be impacting on your everyday life. We will ascertain your availability for counselling and explore your expectations and what you would like to achieve from your sessions.

We will initially offer six sessions and then review whether counselling is helping you and how many further sessions may be required. We usually offer a maximum of 15 sessions unless an individual client requires further sessions to help move towards reaching their goal.

The demand for our service is very high which can result in long waiting lists. We will usually be able to offer an initial appointment for assessment within six weeks. Depending on your flexibility to attend appointments the waiting time to commence counselling may be two to four months from assessment.

What counselling involves

We will offer you a regular appointment time where you can meet with the same counsellor once a week for a 50 minute session. We offer a confidential, non judgemental, nurturing and supportive environment for you to explore your issues at your own pace. To view our counselling agreement in full click HERE.
