WEN Course Tutor

Teamwork Trust is a North Northamptonshire charity and social enterprise which works with and supports autistic adults, people with learning disabilities and individuals with mental health needs.

Our three centres – based in Corby, Kettering and Wellingborough – are friendly, safe and supportive places in which our service users make new friends, access education and employment experiences, and take part in on and off-site activities and classes.

We have a packed programme of living and learning projects & activities as well as wellbeing and counselling programmes and it is our service users who help to steer and plan everything we do.


  • Permanent contract
  • £17 p/h
  • 9 hours per week - based in Corby, Kettering or Wellingborough. 

Days and Times to be agreed and can be flexible 

Key responsibilities:


  • Minimum NVQ level 3 in mental health
  • Evidence of continuing professional development
  • Up to date knowledge of mental health & wellbeing 
  • A good understanding of social exclusion and the principles of recovery
  • Minimum 2 years of working with adults with mental health issues
  • Minimum of 2 years group facilitation or training
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, written and verbal
  • Manage conflicting priorities and one’s own time with minimal supervision. 
  • Group facilitation and training skills   
  • Develop & deliver a person centred approach and to assess, plan & review an individuals’ needs
  • Creativity & original thinking whilst developing practical solutions to problems
  • Administration and organisational skills
  • A commitment to working within a framework that recognises the diversity of service users and encourages equality and opportunity for all

  • A commitment to the participation of service users in decision-making processes, and in the design and delivery of the services they access
  • A commitment to ongoing personal development and training
  • A commitment to the purpose, vision and values of the organisation  
  • An ability to travel to venues
  • Ability and willingness to work some evening and weekends


  • Minimum NVQ level 3 in facilitation, training or education
  • Understanding of adult learning principles
  • Planning, monitoring, auditing & evaluating work to meet objectives
  • Delivering wellbeing & recovery focused training
  • Co-production and Service-User design
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships and partnerships with other agencies
  • Must have access to a vehicle as means of transport


As one of Teamwork Trust’s WEN Course Tutors you will be based in based in Corby, Kettering or Wellingborough and will have previous working experience in delivering learning to adults.

This role will suit a person who is able to design and deliver wellbeing courses, supporting independence for the individual using psychoeducational models. 

To be successful in this role you will be able to develop a model of co-production, co-delivery and co-evolution to allow lived experience to be at the heart of the wellbeing offer. 

This means you will be able to support service users to progress and succeed towards individual progression goals, maintain the privacy and dignity of individuals and respect the individual’s choices, chances, and aspirations. 

Requirements of the role:

  • Organisation and running of learning and support courses for adults
  • Manage your own time in preparing and evaluating courses
  • Co-delivery of courses with volunteers and people with lived experience in a way that promotes and respects this model
  • Provision of appropriate information about mental health and community services
  • Collation of course information and data for reporting purposes

Motivated to drive the service forward sharing new ideas and initiatives. 

Holds a current enhanced DBS.

Is able and willing to work evenings and weekends.
