14th September 2018: Teamwork Trust has won the title ‘Employer of the Year’ at Northamptonshire Chamber’s Business Awards 2018.

Staff, volunteers, trustees and members celebrated as the Northamptonshire-based charity and social enterprise was announced as the overall category winner during the prestigious awards ceremony held at Park Inn by Radisson Hotel in Northampton.

Teamwork Trust – who supports adults with mental health needs, learning and physical disabilities – has made incredible progress over the last 18 months as it pioneers new ways for local charities to provide social care services.

As the Chamber’s 2018 ‘Employer of the Year’, Teamwork Trust was recognised for its strategic approach to learning and development and the role its people have played in helping the charity achieve its business objectives and growth.

Picking up the award, strategic director, John Bruce said: “We are all thrilled with this amazing achievement. This win is a testament to how far we have come as a charity and the foundations we have laid to future-proof our organisation, especially at this difficult time when local and national government-led funding streams within the charity sector are at their most vulnerable. We have taken a far more strategic, people-focused approach to how we run our social care services, and our members and staff are now very much at the heart of our decision-making and future-planning.

“Teamwork remains mindful of the Care Act and the rights of those who are vulnerable in our communities, a society is judged on how it cares for its most vulnerable and we look forward to commenting on government proposals on Social Care when the Green Paper is published this autumn.”

IT service provider, PCS Business Systems and foam manufacturer, Technical Foam Services Ltd were announced runners-up at the ceremony. The award was sponsored and presented by training and coaching consultancy, Beyond Theory.
