Retired couple Sandra and Robert volunteer at Teamwork Trust’s Wellingborough centre in lots of different ways. Robert has been helping out on trips, painting and decorating, and carrying out various maintenance jobs, while Sandra has organised lots of engaging activity sessions for members.
Sandra said:

“At Christmas I organised lots of different themed activities to teach members art and craft skills, and for them to be able to make things they could take home and keep. We had a session where I taught members how to make a Christmas floral decoration in the centre of a cracker using artificial berries and flowers, and materials donated by a local retailer. I also ran a festive table arranging activity using artificial candles, flowers and baubles, which the members absolutely loved. At Easter we created mini Easter-themed gardens with hanging eggs and other Easter items. I take a lot of time to think about activities the members will love and learn from, and we have lots of fun along the way.”
Sandra’s recent karaoke session was also a huge hit too. She added: “The satisfaction we get from walking into Teamwork and being greeted by lots of smiling faces is just incredible. we just love our role as Teamwork volunteers – we are making people happy.”
