Teamwork Trust has been chosen as ‘Charity of the Year’ by local Corby-based HR specialists.

The outsourced Human Resources services and training company, Gateway HR, selected Teamwork Trust – award-winning Northamptonshire charity and social enterprise – to back throughout 2018.

Teamwork Trust, which supports adults with mental health needs, learning and physical disabilities at its three centres in Kettering, Corby and Wellingborough, will benefit from Gateway HR’s support with staff training, teambuilding activities, introductions to businesses and fundraising.

Emma Wynne, Managing Director, Gateway HR said: “It is always a challenge to choose our ‘Charity of the Year’ as we get so many applications from great causes. Having met the Teamwork Trust team earlier in 2017 and spent a brilliant and inspiring morning with the Corby members, alongside a very strong application, they were chosen. The great work the charity does fits very well with our values as an HR company focused on providing opportunities for all and supporting people who may struggle to get in to employment without extra help. We love how passionate they are about what they do and their impressive approach. It’s a fantastic charity so we’re thrilled with our decision and can’t wait to do our best for them.”

Among the fundraisers planned throughout the year is Gateway HR’s ‘Workplace Challenge’, where staff hope to raise £500 through four challenges; a 29,029ft Everest climb, swimming and rowing 21 miles across the English Channel, and an 874 mile walk from Land’s End to John O'Groats. Gateway also hope to support Teamwork Trust by offering training opportunities to upskill staff and volunteers.

Emma added: “As a company we believe in supporting our local economy, and supporting local charities is something we are very passionate about. There is always something going on in our team to raise money for local charities, whether it’s a sponsored race, coffee morning, or planning a charity dinner, but we also want to help Teamwork Trust with more practical support, HR advice and training – areas within a charity which can sometimes get overlooked.”

John Bruce, Strategic Director, Teamwork Trust added: “We would like to say a huge thank you to Gateway HR for choosing to support us and we look forward to working closely with Emma and her team. We are so grateful that a local business is giving back to a local charity, enabling us to provide much needed and often life changing support to our members. Teamwork Trust is developing at a very fast rate and we are delighted that Gateway HR are on board for what will certainly be an exciting year.”
